God is Love

In my quiet time with the Lord this morning (which took place on a 1 1/2 hour ferry ride), God showed me something that hit me hard.

So hard I wanted to scream "HALLELUJAH!!!!" over and over again. And jump up and down with my arms raised.

But I resisted out of pure consideration for my sleeping cabin mates. 'Cause that's how we roll on the first early morning ferry out of CT....we sleep.

The great revelation that God showed me was from 1 John 3:20....."God is greater than our hearts".

There are so many times when my heart feels discouraged, when my heart feels hopeless, when my heart feels like God must hate me for what I just did; but, HE IS GREATER THAN MY HEART. (And my heart can be awful at times.)

Just think about it for a minute or two.

I've always known this...that God's love is pure and truth, but I never thought about how He is greater than my heart.

It just blows me away.

What has God been showing you? I'd love to know.

That is such a great thought - isn't it amazing how we can see something so many times before we really SEE it??

I'm with you on the previous post as well - I am an addict in relapse after the chocolate retreat when I thought I'd had my fill for a long time!

Isn't it wonderful how we can read a verse we know well and God reveals something we haven't even thought about? He really is greater that us all! and thanks for your comment. About the grown children....well, let's just say some grow up and become independent and some grow up and are still dependent. I'm in the middle of cutting some apron and purse strings as we speak...and those strings are so thick! :)

God show me the way every day. Just waking up is a blessing. He brought my husband home safe from Iraq. God never hates. I always say when we have rain that God's tears. I know I've disappointed him from time to time. He knows I'm not perfect. What is amazing to me is that HE loves me no matter what and is always with me.
I enjoyed your blog.
God is Great, all the time.

Amazing, isn't it. God is so much greater than we can begin to imagine. What a wonderful thought.

Awesome! I love it when God opens our eyes like that!

I feel the repeating message is to love like He loves. Non-judgemental and graciously.

My flesh is not crazy about this current theme. :)

Those are wonderful thoughts. What has God been teaching me? My word of the year is satisfaction/contentment. He has been teaching me a lot about that this year.

Lately he has reiterated the need for discipline in my life. Obedience/discipline leads ultimately to contentment. Learning all the ins and outs along the way to get from point A to point B is quite a journey for me this year.

Ultimately, satisfaction is a choice. So I'm choosing to be content. In allcircumstances.

It can be well with my soul even when it is not well with my circumstances. I read that somewhere and I love it.
