Season of Change

I know it's been awhile since I did a post. Thank you for still reading and caring. I probably should have mentioned that I was going to be pre-occupied for a few months, I'm sorry.

Everything is moving along nicely. I love my new job, which is part-time. I get to use my paralegal skills without all of the high-pressured stress which I am most accustomed to. Everyone is so sweet in the Town Hall, the Probate Court is in the center office so I get to see lots of people from the town walk by. I also handle all the passport applications for the town. I'm getting to know lots of people.

My relocation adjustment is still going on, but I'm getting more and more used to my new life and it is starting to become more familiar. For one thing, I don't wake up in the morning wondering where the heck I am anymore. (That's a good thing.)

The wedding plans are moving along as well. I can't even begin to describe how amazing and awesome my future father-in-law/wedding planner has been through this whole loss of job/wedding planning turmoil. He is making it all possible and because of him this wedding is going to be real klassy and all. (Date of the Wedding - July 12, 2008)

Capt is still getting his house ready for sale. It has been a daunting task to say the least. Hopefully by next month it will be listed. And then we need lots of prayer so it sells quickly. It has been difficult financially.

My children are all doing well. David graduated Purchase College last week and made all sorts of honors and such. He is an amazing dramatic writer. Some famous drama company is producing one of his plays in South Carolina next month. I'm so proud.

My son Tom is looking to relocate, along with his job, to Connecticut. I'm so excited.

My daughter Jen is in love with a wonderful man. She is doing well as an artist.

Capt's children are all doing well too. We are all living together now and grafting our family together. Learning how we all work, our roles and how we communicate has been much easier than I expected...but I'm not sure of their side of the story. The children get to have me around after school since I work part-time, so they have more time to socialize with their friends. They also get homemade cookies and milk waiting for them when they walk in the door. For now, we are all loving this. But Capt and I know how difficult stepfamilies are, and we are working, compromising and standing ready for any problems which may occur. So far, so good.

Thanks again for all of your e-mails and comments. Everything is great. There is so much going on in my life right now that I need to focus on doing the best I can in my new life as a soon to be wife and stepmother, my new job and all that it entails and in this season of change.

So GLAD to hear from you! I have been checking every week. I do however, understand when things are going on! I'm so excited about the wedding and I wish I could come :)

You know I married for the 2nd time almost 13 years ago and helped my husband raise his two boys, mine were already out of the nest. I'll say the first 2 years were a challenge and some things come up so unexpectedly! Pray a LOT. We started getting up in the morning and praying together and although it was hard not to pray "God will you make him see this my way?", it brought us so close and we really did see a change. I love his boys like they're my own. But you're right to expect challenges. They can be overcome.

I'll be praying that things go smoothly. Your father in law to be sounds like a jewel. Mine was my buddy. He died recently and I am going to miss him.

I have checked often, but knew you must be very busy. Now I see why!

Thanks so much for stopping by my Show and Tell yesterday - the funny thing is that I don't remember the actually making of any of these cakes except the first two. But I have PROOF that I used to be very creative and energetic! Yay for cameras.

I hope you'll be able to show us lots of pictures of your lovely occasion! Blessings - and thank you for praying for the twins. They are absolutely adorable! (check back a few posts and you'll see them). Kristen's life is upside down right now - please pray for her, too!
